Tibetan pendant Ohm filigree

Square pendant with the Tibetan Ohm sign of Tibetan silver and brass from Nepal. This pendant is inlaid with dark blue and red resinous material. Ohm (also written as Om or Aum) is a mantra, the best known and most important sound in Hinduism and Buddhism. This mystical syllable is often at the beginning of holy scriptures and prayers and stands for invocation, a blessing, an affirmation and a promise.

The jewelry from Nepal is not always made completely straight and refined as for example our jewelry from Bali. Tibetan silver is a mix of silver and other metals.

The pendant is 3.3 cm x 2.8 cm x 1 cm (with eyelet 4.5 cm).
