Thangka Green Tara
Thangka "Green Tara" by Tibetan Buddhist Art. A thangka is a Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting. This thangka is a reproduction on canvas of the original thangka painted by Carmen Mensink. This high-quality reproduction is sewn in Nepal in brocade fabrics. This is done in a traditional way, including the 'curtain' to protect the thangka when it is transported, and ties and ribbons to hang it up.
Green Tara is the Bodhisattva of Salvation and Salvation or the mother of all Buddhas and is also called Dolma or Drolma in Tibetan. With the thangka you get a card with the mantra of Green Tara on the front and the following English text on the back:
Green Tara, the female manifestation of active compassion, reaches out her hand to grant all wishes and, with her right foot outstretched, she is ready to step down and help all who call upon her. Tara is one of the most revered deities in Tibetan Buddhism and there are numerous stories of people that were saved from fears and difficulties while calling her name or reciting her mantra.
Tara, born as a princess called Yeshe Dawa, reached bodhicitta as the result of her untiring practice. One can say that she was one of the first emancipated women. When other - male - practitioners told her to pray for reincarnation in a male body in order to achieve enlightenment, she made the following strong vow: "Until Samsara is empty, I shall work for the benefit of all sentient beings in a woman's body." By mastering extremely profound states of meditation she developed great skills in liberating others and therefore she is also called The Swift liberator.
The dimensions of the thangka are: top 39 cm, bottom 47 cm and length 62 cm. The reproduction is approximately 20.5 cm x 28 cm.
This thangka is a publication of Tibetan Buddhist Art - Copyright: © Carmen Mensink .
