Postcard "Vajra" by Tibetan Buddhist Art. Vajra is the diamond scepter and is also called Dorje in Tibetan. The back has the following English text:
The vajra is the quintessential symbol of the 'Diamond vehicle' or Vajrayana Buddhist path. When used as a ritual implement (used by Vajrayana practitioners) it is held in the right hand and symbolizes powerful and compassionate method. When used in combination with the bell (tib.: ghanta) in the left hand, they represent the perfect union of method and wisdom, male and female.
The vajra essentially symbolizes the indestructible state of enlightenment or Buddhahood. When used double (crossed), the vajra represents absolute stability.
